Participate in St. Stephen’s Lenten Community Service Project!
At St. Stephen Lutheran, it has been a long-standing practice to work together in community service projects during the Lenten Season. We have fed our community in many different ways, sent thank-you letters to active duty military personnel and notes of encouragement to those imprisoned, and made blankets for patients to name a few projects. Even though the pandemic puts restrictions on our ability to come together, we will still serve those in need. Our 2021 project is to prepare egg casseroles for the Salvation Army of Des Moines. This organization provides breakfast to around 800 people who are homeless or nearly homeless every Tuesday and Friday morning.
To participate:
Complete the signup form below, indicating how many casseroles you plan to bring, and submit
Prepare and freeze your casserole(s) at home
Deliver to the church on Wednesday, March 3, or Wednesday, March 23, between 12:15-12:45 p.m. OR 4:15-5:45 p.m. and place your casseroles in the kitchen freezers
Casseroles will be delivered to the Salvation Army by St. Stephen volunteers. For questions or more information, contact tracy@ststephenlutheran.org or call the church office, 515-276-4628.
