Loaves and Fishes - General Information

Tired of eating alone?  Almost pay day, short on cash to buy food, or waiting for your Social Security check?  For many years, St. Stephen has hosted a community meal for any and all, members and non-members, on the last Saturday of every month at 5:00 p.m.  This evening meal is served in our Fellowship Hall in the basement of the church; please enter through the double glass doors on the west side of the church.  The meal includes a home-cooked meal, beverage, and dessert.  Please join us to share fellowship and food!

Volunteer Information

This ministry has continued to grow over the years, and requires dedicated volunteers to both prepare and serve the meal.  In addition to providing a nutritious meal and fellowship opportunity for our guests, it is also a fun way to meet other members of the congregation in a sharing and caring environment!  You can sign up to help during regular services when clipboards are passed during the announcements that detail dates and menus.  Volunteers generally need to arrive by 4:00 p.m., and all work is completed by no later than 6:30 p.m.

While most of the food for this ministry is provided by volunteers on the day of the meal, we do keep certain staples in the cupboards at all times.  If you would like to contribute cash for the purchase of these items, note "Loaves and Fishes" on your check or pew envelope.
